T-YACHT
45ft. daycruiser
The T-Yacht is a 45ft day cruiser study that draws architectural inspiration from an aircraft carrier vessel. Its exterior has been dramatically reduced to an almost clinical level, creating a contrast with the soft, handcrafted wooden interior. The core concept behind this design was to create a warm and inviting nest enclosed by an advanced aluminum shell that conceals hidden functions within.
CONCEPT
The concept behind exterior is to hide all protruding elements and integrate them in unobtrusive and elegant manner. Cleats, navigation lights are integrated into deck part. A rectangular deck provides a larger hangout area and distributes space more evenly when the boat is parked parallel to the dock. The deck is protected with inflating fender system making mooring in natural harbor more friendly.
The theory of form is based on the transformation between rectangular and circular geometries, seamlessly blending into each other. Two vertical surfaces meet at the tip of the bow, cutting through the horizontal surface to elongate the general feel and indicate the direction of the surfaces.
